When remodelling small bathrooms, you want to maximize your available space for storage while maintaining functionality. One simple idea which creates the illusion of more space is to paint the walls a lighter color. On the other hand, some homeowners are looking for a more dramatic, cosier space and in this case, a darker color would be optimal. For storage space in small bathrooms, you will want to utilize wall space and under sink space, using the vertical space as your horizontal space is limited. You can use shelving above the toilet area for linens or personal items. The space below the sink, often used in a piece of furniture or vanity as opposed to a pedestal sink can be used for storage.
If the small bathroom is a half bath, you may be less concerned with storage space and more interested in floor space. In this case, a pedestal sink may work great, as more floor space will be visible, giving the illusion of a larger space.
