In addition to keeping your pool water clean, you will also want to keep any surrounding deck areas clean. Dirt or debris from the pool decks can be easily transferred into the water adding to the cleaning requirements of your pool. Not to mention, when the pool deck areas are moist, there is a safety concern if there is excess debris in the area. Simply use an outdoor broom to remove debris from the pool decks on an ongoing basis and prior to pool usage. In addition to regular deck maintenance, it is recommended that you power wash it at least annually. You can typically rent power washers from your local home improvement store. This machine provides a deeper clean for the deck's surface. Lastly, you will want to re-stain or re-surface your pool deck when needed to extend its longevity. In most cases, only simply board repair work may be required in addition to surface attention every few years.
