Most homes have carpet installed in one or more rooms. If properly maintained, carpet should remain in good condition for between 5-10 years. In order to increase the longevity of your carpet, it is important to install the proper carpet within each room based upon the traffic seen. For a room with heavy foot traffic, consider a thicker, more durable carpet in a darker color.
To prevent carpet shedding, choose a carpet with BCF fibers as they will not shed like many products on the market. For smaller spaces or rooms which see light traffic, choose carpet in lighter colors. For the opposite effect, carpet installed in darker colors will make a room feel smaller and cozier. If you plan to stay in the property for the long term, choosing a carpet constructed from sturdier materials to increase its longevity. Carpet comes in a variety of colors, textures, materials and can be found in virtually every budget.
