If you have a hot tub on your property, you will want to learn how to properly maintain it to extend the life of the unit and to ensure proper water safety for you and your family while enjoying it. Here are some easy tips to follow regarding hot tub maintenance:
- Plan to clean the spa at least every three to four months.
- Drain the spa when you clean it using the plug system designed for drainage. Consider purchasing a simple pump to increase the speed in which the water drains.
- Use a heavy-duty cleanser to clean the inside of the spa, focusing on recommended products by your manufacturer to avoid damaging the unit.
- After the unit has been thoroughly cleaned, be sure to rinse it out to remove any residual cleaning supplied as they may harm the working mechanics if left alone. While the cleaning steps for hot tubs are fairly straight forward, they do require you to take the time to complete them thoroughly to ensure proper functionality of your unit.
