Small Kitchens
Since the kitchen is considered the heart of the home, you will want to maximize the space. If you have a small kitchen, you will want to not only make the space appear larger, but you will want to learn how to maximize your storage and counter space. One way to make the kitchen appear larger is to use light colors on the walls. This rule does not apply if your kitchen has unusual wall shapes. In this case, combining darker colors with primary colors will create a dramatic look which actually makes the space appear larger. Yet another tip to make the space appear larger is to skip the curtains. This will allow more natural light to shine into the space.
To maximize storage space, you will need to use as many cabinets as your space will allow, looking for creative options such as islands and ceiling height cabinets, not leaving the typical above cabinet space to maximize your storage options.
