If you are updating your landscaping or laying grass for the first time, you will likely be surprised to learn how many different grass types which are available. Each grass type will thrive in certain geographic climates. So, as you consider each grass type, you will want to compare it to the soil conditions and general weather in your given area before completing your purchase. If your property is located in a warm weather climate area, you may want to consider Buffalo grass, Zoysia grass, St. Augustine, Bermuda or Bahia grass as each of these types thrive in warm weather climates.
The primary differences between these warm weather grasses are the type of traffic they can endure and their general appearance. If your property is located in cooler climates, consider Kentucky blue grass or perennial rye grass. Choosing the best grass for your soil conditions, traffic patterns and climate conditions will lower your yard's required maintenance level and will ensure that you have a beautiful yard.
