Corner Sink Vignette
This Corner Sink Vignette is Sophisticated yet Warm Orange walls serve as a foil for deep colors of tile, wood, and window casing in this clever use of bath corner space. One foot square tiles ascending from the floor half way up the walls set the palette for this sink vignette. The browns and grays in the tiles are deep and their values are warm. The warm brown of the tiles is highlighted in the horizontal strips of teak that mask the front of the wash basin and give the space its focal point. The dark gray slate counter top takes its hues from the wall tiles. Even the orange walls get their color cue from the tiles. Look closely and you will see lots of orange undertone in the tiles. The deep window casing which serves as a shelf, repeats the gray, and tones down the whole room. The soft shape of the sink is juxtaposed with the sharp angles of the mirror and the window, adding geometric interest and sophistication to this small area.
