Old, and old-looking, furniture is being recycled from its original purpose and now serves as bathroom decor. See a well executed example of this trend in this white country style bathroom. In a move away from standard issue bathroom cabinets, consignment and thrift stores are being shopped by interior designers looking for old furniture that can be repurposed for use in bathrooms. Dressers and dining room hutches are especially popular since the tops are large enough to accommodate sinks. In this white country bathroom, the hutch is especially attractive because of the beautiful decorative relief on its doors. And because the piece is large, it not only hides the plumbing, but provides storage for bathroom essentials. Every bathroom needs a mirror, and here the mirror is mounted on the top portion of the hutch. The base and the top of the hutch do not necessarily need to be found together since the paint color will pull even non-matching pieces together. In this bathroom, lighting around the mirror comes from two lamps with beaded shades in keeping with the period of the furniture.
