Circle Top Window Treatments
October 15, 2009
Circle top windows can be seen usually over a stairwell or over a door. Though these look absolutely spectacular, it is difficult to decorate them. Window treatments can be quite challenging due to the half circle like shape, very much like an arched window.
Here are a few ways you could decorate that circle top window:
- Blinds can work real well with circle top windows, more so if they are wooden blinds. Vinyl blinds would also look good. Vertical blinds must not be used at all even if your window is fairly large! They simply take away the attraction of a circular or half circular shape of the window. You will be able to find curved rods specially made for window tops that are curved and there are blinds that span out in a fan shape.
- A Swag can be used with very pretty much any kind of window shape. All you have to do is set up a thin rod over the top of the window; now the swag can be draped over it. Let it hang about midway down the window leaving the rest of the window uncovered.
- Though a shade may not be workable on circle top windows, it will take care of covering the window. You can try pleated fabric shades or even a bamboo one. However, any shades made with vinyl or plastic must be avoided as they take away the classiness of a beautiful circle top window!
- Leave the window uncovered. This will allow passersby and guests to enjoy and appreciate the splendid circular window top. Unless there is a problem with privacy, this is the best option.
