Why should you consider double hung windows? Double hung windows refer to those which open both at the top and the bottom. These vintage windows were originally created to regulate air flow and temperature in a home. When the window's top sash is open, warmer air rises, replaced with cooler air. So, essentially these windows work as a low cost air conditioning system for a property. Even with advances in technology available today, these windows still provide the same service for homeowners when installed.
In addition to providing energy benefits, they also allow a great deal of light into a room. For both practicality and design, double hung windows offer a vintage flair with modern energy savings.
